Auction Procedure
Respected customers of our Auction House! The auctions are headed by Michael Plettner, Martina Stein, Peggy Holzmüller and Katja Pflugbeil.
The auctions are public; admission is without restrictions, domestic authority is, however, with the Auctioneers.
The lots are called in the specified sequence. At first lot-specific details are read out (offered for auction sale). Then the relevant printed minimum bids are called and higher bids are requested (by raising the hand) at increases specified by the Auction House in advance. A knockdown is made to the highest bidder at the third blow of the hammer.
After the knockdown by the Auctioneer, the purchase deed is notarised immediately in the presence of a notary. The contract is subsequently signed by the Purchaser, the Auctioneer or his authorised signatory, and the Notary. A draft of the purchase deed can be downloaded.
The Auction Sale Conditions, which are notarised in the Register of Deeds under no. B 371/2009 of the Notary Michael Becker, apply for all auction sales.
The Purchaser has to deposit a bidding security to the amount of 10% of the hammer price at the auction, however, at least € 2,000.00 in cash or in the form of a collection only cheque (the payment of which must be guaranteed for the next work day) of a German bank. The purchase price balance must be paid within four weeks following knockdown. Changes require the prior written approval of the Auctioneers in charge.
The fee to be paid by the Purchaser to the Auction House is calculated for hammer prices up to € 9,999 - 17.85%, for hammer prices from € 10,000 to € 29,999 - 11.9%, for hammer prices from € 30,000 to € 59,999 - 9.52%, and for hammer prices from 60,000 - 7.14%; in each case inclusive of value added tax at the relevant applicable statutory rate. The commission is due and payable upon knockdown.
Due to legal regulations in Germany, the Purchaser must be able to speak German. Should this not be the case, please contact the Auction House in time (at least one week before the auction) or visit the auctions together with somebody who speaks German.
